Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: Users of DB2 Admin Tool attempting to        *
  *                 alter a table by increasing the scale        *
  *                 of a DECIMAL column.                         *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: After  PK56652 and  using ALC panel     *
  *                      ADB27CTC no longer appears when the     *
  *                      scale of  an altered DECIMAL column     *
  *                      is increased.                           *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: APPLY the PTF.                               *
  ****************************************************************
  If the scale of a DECIMAL column is increased as part of an
  alter, after PK56652 the DB2 Admin tool forces a DROP, even
  though an ALTER could also work.
  

Problem conclusion

• An SQL ALTER is offered as a choice when the scale of a DECIMAL
  column  is increased  if  no other  change to  the target table
  requires a DROP.
