PK62827: WHEN DATATYPE CHANGES, SET STATEMENT IS ENCLOSED IN QUOTES WHICH RESULTS IN CHANGE IN DATATYPE TO DISTINCT

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In DB2 Administration Tool, when performing CM Analyze and
  the datatype changes (e.g. char to timestamp or char(3) to
  char(2).  Comparison Report shows this under the column:
  (D)Type changed from Distinct type SYSIBM."CHAR" to Distinct
  This type change is not supported.
  CM Run fails with rc=1012
  Addition Symptoms: rc1012
  

Local fix

• Remove the quotes around the SET in CM
  

Problem summary

  *                      after IMPORT and ANALYSE.IMPORT with    *
  *                      masking was not registering the SET     *
  *                      CURRENT SQLID statement.                *

  * RECOMMENDATION: APPLY the PTF.                               *

  The problem is because of parser not parsing the SET DATA TYPE
  stmt correctly. IMPORT was changed to register the SET CURRENT
  SQLID statement.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem is fixed only in V7.2.
