Error description

  • No consistent codes are returned from batch functions. There's a
    need to pass back to the job step consistant QCF return codes.

Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: All users f QCF3.1                           *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Batch step ends  with RC=00 in all      *
    *                      cases. Message IQC4998I is issued if no *
    *                      error has been deected, message         *
    *                      IQC4999E is issued when some error is   *
    *                      detected. In message IQC4999E there are *
    *                      return codes from IQCXCTRL, SCI         *
    *                      requests and IMS requests, but these    *
    *                      codes are not communicated to job step  *
    *                      and job step ends with RC=00.           *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

    Programs have been changed to communicate the errors to the job
    step and job step ends with different return codes. Return codes
    and possible reasons are in following table ( the table will be
    included in User's guide ):
     Return Codes
     The following Return Codes are also reflected in the:
       Batch Job as the Cond Code,
       Batch Job Report Output for those Batch Jobs that generate a
     and in
       One of the following messages
     o IQC7003E
     o IQC7006E
     o IQC4999E.

       1. FUNCTIONS QUERY/BROWSE/UNLOAD/RECOVER SUCCESSFULY
    COMPLETED. AIB RETURN CODE AND AIB  REASON CODE ZERO.
       2. FUNCTION LOAD- NO REQUEST FOR MESSAGES TO BE SENT TO
    SCRAP LOG.
       3.FUNCTION LOAD - REQUEST FOR MESSAGES TO BE SENT
     SCRAP LOG AND ONLY REQUESTED MESSAGES SENT TO  CRAP LOG.
       4.FUNCTION LOAD - SPECIFYING CERTAIN TYPES OF  MESSAGES
     LOADED, THEY ARE LOADED, ALL OTHER  MESSAGES GO TO SCRAP LOG
    
     04(X'04')   JOB SUCCESSFUL
    
        1.FUNCTION LOAD- NO REQUEST FOR MESSAGES TO BE SENT TO
     HOWEVER MESSAGES WERE SENT TO SCRAP LOG.
       2.FUNCTION LOAD - SPECIFYING CERTAIN TYPE OF MESSAGES TO
    BE LOADED, OTHER MESSAGES TO GO TO SCRAP LOG. HOWEVER SOME
    MESSAGES THAT SHOULD BE LOADED GO TO SCRAPLOG.
       3.FUNCTION LOAD- UNABLE TO OPEN SCRAPLOG DATA SET.
       4.FUNCTIONS BROWSE/UNLOAD/RECOVER- UNABLE TO OPEN
    BROWSE/UNLOAD/RECOVER DATA SETS.
       5.FUNCTION RECOVER FOR SHARED QUEUES- THERE ARE NO
    MESSAGES ON COLD QUEUE.
