PK58696: CONCURRENT TRANSACTIONS AND INCORRECT FETCH

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The same transaction was running concurrently on 2 data sharing
  members. The SQL was of the type:
  SELECT   aaaaaa,   bbbbbb FROM   table
  WHERE    cccccc = 'xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx'
     AND aaaaaa = '001'
     AND bbbbbb = 'd' FOR UPDATE
  The second transaction FETCHed the row, when the first
  transaction had already UPDATEd it, so that bbbbbb = 'e' and the
  WHERE clause was therefore not satisfied.

  Concurrent tasks selected rows for update. One task changed a
  key column that was being selected by another task. The second
  task continued to update that same row when it no longer
  qualified. The key compare routine incorrectly compared the data
  if no decimal column existed in the key.
  

Problem conclusion

• DSNIKESR is changed to correctly return key compare status.
