**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: OMEGAMON XE for DB2 PE/DB2PM * * users of component: * * - Performance Expert Client * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The Resource Access Control Facility * * (RACF) component of z/OS Security * * Server V1.7 introduced the support for * * mixed case passwords. In a mixed case * * password environment, however, some * * users may not be able to log on to * * PE Client if their passwords are in * * mixed case mode. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply this PTF. * **************************************************************** PROBLEM SUMMARY: Users may not be able to log on to PE Client interface if their passwords are in mixed case mode. PROBLEM CONCLUSION: The passwords that are entered at logon time will not be converted to upper case if the option 'Fold password to upper case' is set to N in ICAT. Find details in the TechNote 'Mixed Case Password Support for ITMS:Engine-based z/OS applications': http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=2260&context=SSRM88& dc=DB520&dc=DB560&uid=swg21270460&loc=en_US&cs=UTF-8&lang=en&rss =ct2260tivoli Note: This PTF is the prerequisite for mixed case password support, containing server build level 08.014 and workstation client L1531. Please inform your users that mixed case password support will only work with client level L1531 or later. If you are not able to upgrade all your servers immediately, users of the new workstation client must type in their password in upper case. If you plan to use the newest PEClient against a DB2PE v2 server, you have to specify the password in uppercase.
