Error description

• Distibution chart throws the following error when it is sorted
  by state using Microsoft(R) Access database:
  CATCHALL: Error() CPDataSet::InitializeAgingQuery
  This problem happens in IBM(R) Rational(R) ClearQuest(R)
  7.0.1.0.
  Steps to roproduce the error:
  1. Query > New Chart and select Distribution Chart.
  2. Select the following parameters:
   Vertical Axis (Y) field: id
   Vertical Axis (Y) function: count
   Vertical Axis (X) field: state
   Vertical Axis (X) sort: Ascending or Dscending
  3. Click Next, Next and Run, then you will get the error
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• A distribution chart can throw an error when it is sorted by
  state and you are using Microsoft Access as the database.
  MS Access is not supported for production use.
  

Problem conclusion

• This is something of an edge case and it only occurs with
  Microsoft Access, which is not supported for production use,
  so it is a very low-priority issue.  We do not plan to fix
  this issue for these reasons.
