Problem
When you are installing WebSphere Business Modeler Publishing Server Interim Fix 2, the installation fails and you receive the following error: "The installation wizard did not find an existing installation of WebSphere Business Modeler Publishing Server. Please install WebSphere Business Modeler Publishing Server before applying iFix."
Resolving The Problem
Uninstall and reinstall WebSphere Business Modeler Publishing Server before applying the interim fix.
If you are unable to uninstall WebSphere Business Modeler Publishing Server using Add or Remove Programs, you can do the following manual steps:
- Stop the WebSphere Business Modeler Publishing Server and the WebSphere Application Server server. (You can verify that all java processes are terminated using the Windows Task Manager.)
- Restart the WebSphere Application Server only.
- Log in to the WebSphere Application Server administrative console (for example,
https://localhost:10003/ibm/console/logon.jsp). - Uninstall the application PublishingServer:


- Click the OK button, and save your changes
- Go to Resources > JDBC Providers and delete "Publishing Server JDBC Provider":

- Save changes again.
- Logout.
- Stop the WebSphere Application Server.
- Verify that no java processes are running using Windows Task Manager.
- Delete the directory where WebSphere Business Modeler Publishing Server was installed, for example, C:\IBM\WebSphere\Publishing.

- Go to Add or Remove Programs and uninstall "Publishing Server" and any interim fixes applied to Publishing Server:

When you get the following error dialog, press Yes:

- Repeat step 12 for any Publishing Server interim fixes.
- Start the Publishing Server again.
- Log in to the Portal admin page (for example,
http://localhost:10038/wps/portal/).
- Go to Administration > Manage Pages > Content Root and remove WebSphere Business Modeler Publishing Server by clicking the icon for the recycle bin:

- Log out of WebSphere Business Modeler Publishing Server.
- Stop WebSphere Business Modeler Publishing Server. (Use Windows Task Manager to verify that no java processes are running.)
Now you can reinstall Publishing Server 6.1.1 and apply the newest Interim Fix 2.
Important:
One hint for installing Interim Fix 1 or Interim Fix 2:
Copy the help directory from the Publishing Server 6.1.1 installation base to the Interim Fix 1 or Interim Fix 2 location. You need to have this file structure in order to install the interim fixes successfully.

To verify that Publishing Server 6.1.1 Interim Fix 1 or 2 is installed, you can check the file product.properties in directory C:\IBM\WebSphere\Publishing.
