Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: OMEGAMON XE for DB2 PE/DB2PM * * users of component * * - PE Server * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When a PE Client user tries to log on * * to the OMEGAMON Server, either to a * * single PESERVER instance or to multiple * * PESERVER instances, or performance data * * are requested for display, the PE * * Client might experience a timeout * * because the Server does not respond. * * The Server issues message FPEV1312E to * * the Server log. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply this PTF. * **************************************************************** PROBLEM SUMMARY: When a PE Client user tries to log on to the OMEGAMON Server, either to a single PESERVER instance or to multiple PESERVER instances, or performance data are requested for display, the PE Client might experience a timeout because the Server does not respond. The Server issues message FPEV1312E to the Server log. During execution of the PE Client request the Server switches the security environment to check the authorization of the user. Depending on the sequences and timing a request might fail because it is not performed on behalf of the requesting user. PROBLEM CONCLUSION: When a PE Client user tries to log on or the Server acts on behalf of the PE Client user, the Server switches the security environment to check the authorization of the user. Requests on behalf of PE Client users will be serialized to avoid interference. The code has been corrected accordingly.
