PK54596: DRF RECOVERY JOBS WILL NOT INCLUDE ALL REQUIRED LOGS DUE TO TIME PRECISION GREATER THAN A TENTH WITH IMS V9 DBRC

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The problem is because DRF allows a recovery time with a
  precision greater than a tenth of a second. This time is passed
  to DBRC where the logs needed for recovery are determined. In
  IMS V9, DBRC truncates the time to the tenth of a second.
  Because of this truncation, DBRC does not supply the correct
  log. DRF is using the full timestamp precision in determining
  when to stop reading log records so there is an inconsistency
  between DRF and DBRC.

  DRF is using the full timestamp precision in recover, but DBRC
  truncates the time to the tenth of a second. Because of this
  truncation, DBRC does not supply the correct log. As the result,
  DRF report does not report the correct logs nor the recover time
  with a precision greater than a tenth of a second.
