PK54239: MSG ADD PRIMARY KEY FAILED. TABLE XXX ALREADY HAS A PRIMARY KEY

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In DB2 Administration Tool, using CM (Change Management), a
  duplicate primary key condition can occur. The PK appears in
  the table definition and again in an ALTER TABLE ADD PK
  statement in delta changes file. Error messages appear similar
  to the following during ANALYZE processing:

  ADBCCME - Error(s) found. Please review output
  Add primary key failed. Table C717086.TB38621 already has a
     primary key
  ADBC002E - Severe error. Merge terminates
  .

  * USERS AFFECTED: Users of Object Compare Ver 7.2.             *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CM REGISTER  processing added  an extra *
  *                      ADD  the PRIMARY  KEY statement because *
  *                      the table was  not dropped.  The table, *
  *                      however, was ADMIN DROPPED, which means *
  *                      that  PRIMARY KEY  was provided already *
  *                      by ALTERs.                              *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *

  The means by which ADMIN DROPPED tables could be tracked was
  added so  that while  the table was not dropped, it could be
  determined that the table was ADMIN DROPPED.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem has been fixed in Object Compare Ver 7.2.
