    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When the plugin is deployed in front of the Websphere proxy
    server, the ESI invalidation requests could not pass through
    the proxy server. The problem is caused by proxy buffering ESI
    request body before forwarding it to the invalidation servlet.

Problem conclusion

  • To enable proxy handling of incoming ESI invalidation requests,
    3 custom properties need to be defined in the proxy settings
    panel:

    Property: http.customFilterChainsTemplate0.filters
         Value: ESI_Invalidator_Filter_Group
    Property: http.customFilterChainsTemplate0.name
         Value: ESI_Invalidator_Template
    Property: http.customFilterChainsTemplate0.uris
         Value: /_DynaCacheEsi

    The fix for this APAR is targeted for fix pack 6.1.0.17.
