APAR status

Error description

• PDM word document (with Slovakian characters) conversion to HTML
  produces incorrect results due to errors in encoding as a result
  of the
  conversion process. Problem occurs when content with a link to a
  PDM doc
  in Slovakian characters with a corresponding
  DocumentManagerElement tag
  in the presentation template with the convertTo attribute set to
  "text/html" is rendered.

  Detailed Problem Description:
  
  There is an encoding error in the conversion process of the file
  from the doc format to HTML.
  

Problem conclusion

• Problem Analysis:
  
  The DCS convertor which is responsible for converting the PDM
  doc to HTML always returns an html file
   in UTF-8 encoding regardless of the actual encoding as returned
  by Stellant. WCM expects an HTML file
   in UTF-8 and retrieves the file using that encoding.
  
  Problem Solution:
  
  DCS has provided a fix that returns an HTML file in the encoding
  as returned by Stellant. WCM code has
  been modifed to parse the HTML file for the charset before
  retrieving the file using that encoding.
