Error description
Invalid MS-DOS function error occurs on Windows Vista if I try to copy a file larger than 256 KB from a dynamic view. Steps to repro: 1. Install ClearCase (server) 7.0.1 on supported Windows OS. Use this as the view, VOB and registry server 2. Create a VOB and a dynamic view 3. Install ClearCase (client) 7.0.1 on Windows Vista 3. On the Windows Vista client, add a file to source control using the view and VOB created in Step No. 2. 4. Right-click the file in ClearCase Explorer, select Copy, right-click the Desktop in Windows Vista and select paste. If the file is 262143 bytes or less, the file copies succesfully. If the file is 262144 bytes or more, the error: 'Invalid MS-DOS function' occurs. Same error occurs if you use drag-and-drop rather than copy paste mechanism. If you try to copy from the comnmand line, the error is 'Invalid function'. The problem only occurs on files added to source control, not with view private files. Workaround: Checkout the file before copying it. If the file is checked out, the file copies sucessfully.
