Error description
On Sybase, certain complex queries involving columns of type Double will result in the following database error: com.sybase.jdbc3.jdbc.SybSQLException: FOR UPDATE can not be use d in a SELECT which is not part of the declaration of a cursor o r which is not inside a stored procedure.

**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM WebSphere Application Server version * * 6.1 users of the JDBC mediator with Sybase. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The JDBC Mediator can generate * * incorrect queries for Sybase. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When using the JDBC Mediator with Sybase, some complex queries involving multiple tables and a column of type "double precision" will be generated incorrectly. This will result in an exception being thrown when you attempt to retrieve a datagraph from the mediator.
Problem conclusion
Query generation for Sybase has been fixed to correctly handle double precision columns. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fixpack 6.1.0.11.
