PK46751: BCIT FAILS RC= ON LIST CPOPCOM IF OPERATION NOT IN CP EQQX198E RC8 RS28 IN DIALOG OLD HISTORY (OPTION 7, EQQHISTL)

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• BCIT ACTION=LIST,RESOURCE=CPOPCOM fails RC08 if the resource
  to be listed is not in the CP.  With TWS 8.2, the same job ends
  RC=04 as documented in the PROGRAMMING INTERFACES MANUAL
  .
  MSG EQQX198E RC08 RSN08, SUBSYS RC00 RSN00 in TWSZ ISPF dialog
  OLD OPERATIONS (option 7) panel EQQHISTL.
  .
  Both errors caused by incorrectly reported "RECORD NOT FOUND"
  (RC=08 instead of RC=04) on read of CP05 CPLREC05 record by GS
  subtask.

  * RECOMMENDATION: APPLY THE PTF FIXING THIS APAR               *

  In the TWSz 8.3 relaese has been created a new routine EQQASEQN
  to read the CP05 record, in this new routine when a record is
  not found in the CP the return code is set to 08, instead in
  the TWS 8.2 release when a record is not found in the CP the
  return code is set to 04. The behaviour in TWS 8.3 must be
  alligned to TWS 8.2.
  

Problem conclusion

• Alligned the behaviour of TWS 8.3 to the old behaviour of the
  TWS 8.2.
