    * persistent sockets wait for new input *
    *                      with RECV state.                        *

    * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF *
    ****************************************************************
When all persistent sockets are in RECV state and
are waiting for new INPUT, STOPPORT command should work.
Currently IMS Connect rejects the command by MSGHWSS0730W.
    HWSS0730W COMMAND=STOPPORT FOR PORT=9999 REJECTED,
    CLIENT(S) IN PROGRESS; M=SSTP

    keyword(s): CMDSTOPPORT

Problem conclusion

  • AIDS: RIDS/DCS RIDS/LMGR DCS LMGR
      DEP: NONE
      GEN:

    *** END IMS KEYWORDS ***
HWSSSTP0 was modified to accept the STOPPORT command when
sockets are active on the port. STOPPORT will terminate sockets
in RECV state awaiting for input and allow for sockets with work
in progress to complete. Sockets awaiting acknowledgement or
sockets in CONN state are considered working progress. New
socket requests are denied until the socket is re-activated via
    a OPENPORT command

    Additionally:
This apar will enable the customer to recover the PORT by
issuing a STOPPORT and OPENPORT command rather than having to
    recycle IMS Connect.
However, if STOPPORT does not work, VIEWHWS or VIEWPORT
will display the client(s) which prevents STOPPORT from
completing. STOPCLNT will clean up the pending socket
    connection.
