Data deduplication can slow down backup processing

Troubleshooting

Problem

High memory demands for the data deduplication table (DDT) can cause IBM Spectrum Protect Plus backup processes to slow.

Symptom

With an increase of data over time in the DDT table, the memory that is required to manage the table and the deduplication processes increases. In certain cases, volume mount processes experience issues and can fail. Unexpected failures with error messages can occur.
