APAR status

  • Closed as new function.

Error description

  • Current Incremental Image Copy capabilities in DRF generates a
new ICR to the current time. Customer wants the to be able to
perform a timestamp Incremental IC to generate a BATCH image
    copy at a previous time.

    ****************************************************************
Users require an ability to generate a BATCH Incremental Image
Copy to a timestamp. Currently in order for an Incremental
Image Copy to be recognized as a BATCH, an IMS CMDDBR needs to
be issued or OLDS must be archived prior to generating the
image copy. If generating an Incremental Image Copy to a
timestamp is allowed, the image copy will be able to run to a
time identified by the user that is after the OLDS have been
    archived.

Comments

  • FRXBDMG0 and FRXMTC are changed to replace the text in
MSGFRD6124A from "SPECIFIC VALUE OF RCVTIME IS NOT ALLOWED FOR
AN INCREMENTAL IMAGE COPY" to say "NOT SUPPORTED WITH
    INCREMENTAL IC TYPE".

FRXEPSS0 is changed to allow the RCVTIME parameter for a
timestamp to be supplied for OUTPUT(ICR) processing. RCVTIME
is still not allowed for OUTPUT(ICRCA) processing and will
cause DRF to fail with MSGFRD6124A INVALID DATA ENCOUNTERED.
KEYWORD: RCVTIME RSN=NOT SUPPORTED WITH INCREMENTAL IC TYPE

Specifying OUTPUT(ICR) with PITR will also fail with
MSGFRD6124A INVALID DATA ENCOUNTERED. KEYWORD: PITR RSN=NOT
    SUPPORTED WITH INCREMENTAL IC TYPE

FRXIAUX is changed to pass the timestamp from the RCVTIME
paramenter to HPIC if one is supplied for the Incremental Image
    Copy process.

    FRXIOCN0, FRXIOSM0, FRXIVCN0, and FRXIVSM0 are recompiled to
    pick up changes from FRXIAUX.

Chapter 7. Messages and Codes of IMS Database Recovery Facility
FRD6124A INVALID DATA ENCOUNTERED. KEYWORD: keyword RSN=rsn

    Changed the following reason description:
SPECIFIC VALUE OF RCVTIME IS NOT ALLOWED FOR AN INCREMENTAL
      IMAGE COPY
      ...

    To say:
NOT SUPPORTED WITH INCREMENTAL IC TYPE
The OUTPUT(ICR) process will terminate if specified with
PITR on the RECOVER START input control statement. This
combination is not supported. An Incremental Image Copy
cannot be taken to any point-in-time. An Incremental Image
Copy can, however, be taken to a specified timestamp where
a database was previously brought offline, archive of OLDS
occurred, or to a batch window.

The OUTPUT(ICRCA) process will terminate if specified with
RCVTIME. This combination is not supported. The ICRCA
process determines the latest available timestamp that can
be used to ensure that a batch image copy is generated.
