Problem

This technote states using multi-stream UCM ClearCase with IBM® Rational® ClearQuest® Test Manager (CQTM) may lead to testing data divergence.

Symptom

Many users wish to use their multi-stream UCM implementations with CQTM for the storage of test scripts and logs. However, in a multi-stream environment in CQTM it is possible that a view association can be set to a view that can read more than one stream. Because of this, it is possible that enforcing the use of the same versions of specific test scripts may become difficult. To resolve this potential issue, it is necessary for the administrator to properly set up the associations by using the "Capture Stream Name" option of the view association.
