Error description

  • With Object Analysis active,  user does a stop of the OMPE
    servers and the db2 v810 subsystem takes an abend.
    .
    communication between DB2 and Media manager is being modified
    and thus causes the abend0c4.
    A 31-bit termination routine address is passed from db2 to
    Media Manager during dataset open.  The address is being
    modified by OMPE.

    1. The termination address in the DB2 MMIB control structure is
    not restored properly by Object Analysis causing DB2 V8
    subsystems to abnormally terminate.
    2. WTO message is issued with invalid message buffer address
    causing Object Analysis to terminate.
    

Problem conclusion

  • 1. Object Analysis has been changed to correctly restore the
    termination address in the DB2 MMIB control structure.
    2. Object Analysis has been changed to issue the WTO message
    with a valid buffer address.
