PK36897: NOVALUE CONDITION RAISED IN ADB2M1M WHEN USING SM MOVE FUNCTION

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The DB2 Administration Tool SM 'Space management functions'
  MOVE line command fails with a NOVALUE condition raised in
  ADB2M1M when option 5 'Move page set from VCAT to STOGROUP'
  is selected and the VCAT and STOGROUP share the same HLQ.
  While the sharing of the HLQ is against DB2's rules the DB2
  Administration Tool should not have raised a NOVALUE condition,
  see the DB2 Administration Guide chapter "Changing the
  high-level qualifier for DB2 data sets" for information on how
  to change HLQ's.

  *                      SYSEXEC for avariable dssvols when      *
  *                      moving the pageset from user managed    *
  *                      objects to STOGROUP managed objects.    *
  *                      This condition is raised only when the  *
  *                      the same VCAT HLQ is used for both VCAT *
  *                      and stogroup.                           *

  * RECOMMENDATION: APPLY the PTF.                               *

  Novalue condition has been issued because the sysexec checks:
  if nvcat<> vcatname which is false and dssvols is not being
  initialized. Problem has been corrected by changing Exec ADB2M1M
  to initialise dssvols.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem has been corrected.
