Troubleshooting
Problem
A number of CICSPlex SM resource tables are no longer supported in CICS Transaction Server for z/OS (CICS TS) V3.2. When you upgrade to CICSPlex SM at the V3.2 (or later) level any WUI views, CICSPlex SM API programs, or CICSPlex SM RTA definitions that reference these resources are affected. The unsupported resource tables are XDSPGBL, XDSPPOOL, XJVMPOOL, XLSRPBUF, XMONITOR, XPROGRAM, XSTREAM, XTASK and X2TASK.
Symptom
If you use an existing Web User Interface (WUI) view defined for one of these resources you see message EYUVC1217E because the resource is not recognized. For example:
EYUVC1217E Object (XTASK) used in View set (IBM_CMZXTASK) is not recognised in this release of CICSPlex SM.
The resources are no longer included in the Object List for the WUI View Editor so you can not create any new view sets for them.
If you import a viewset you created for one of these resources on an earlier release and try to edit it using the View Editor you get message EYUVE0371E:
EYUVE0371E View set (XPROGRAMVIEW) cannot be edited because it represents an Object that is not available in this release of CICSPlex SM.
A CICSPlex SM application programming interface (API) request for one of these resources, such as GET, PERFORM OBJECT or SPECIFY VIEW, returns response INVALIDPARM and reason OBJECT. The resources do not appear in the list of all valid API resources returned by a CICSPlex SM API GETDEF OBJECT (with OBJECT='OBJECT' and RESOURCE='*').
If you have EVALDEFs for these resources, that you have migrated from earlier releases, you get message EYUPM0107E when attempting to install RTADEFs that use those EVALDEFs:
EYUPM0107E Install of RTADEF (XTSKRTA) for RTASPEC ARTASPEC in Context(PLX01) Scope(CICSH5) failed.
EYUVC1217E Object (XTASK) used in View set (IBM_CMZXTASK) is not recognised in this release of CICSPlex SM.

Resolving The Problem
The information contained in the Xccccccc resource tables is now available in other resource tables as follows:
XDSPGBL DSPGBL
XDSPPOOL DSPPOOL
XJVMPOOL JVMPOOL
XLSRPBUF LSRPBUF
XMONITOR MONITOR
XPROGRAM PROGRAM
XSTREAM STREAMNM
XTASK TASK
X2TASK TASK
There were no IBM-supplied views for the Xccccccc resources in the CICSPlex SM WUI Starter set for earlier releases of CICS TS. However, there were IBM-supplied views for CICS Performance Monitor for z/OS (CICS PM) that used these resources. You were also able to create your own views by using the CICSPlex SM WUI View Editor. If you created your own views, you will need to recreate the views using the View Editor for the corresponding supported resource tables.
If you use the unsupported resources in any CICSPlex SM API programs, edit those applications to replace all instances of the Xccccccc resource name with the name of the equivalent supported resource. There are a couple of exceptions to this:
Change the EXEC CPSM CONNECT call to connect to CICSPlex SM at the version you are running. For example, use VERSION(=CL4'0320') to ensure you connect at the CICS TS V3.2 level. When you compile your programs, use the CICS TS macro libraries from the release you are running (CICS TS V3.2 or higher) to ensure that you are using the latest versions of the resource tables.
Update any CICSPlex SM RTA EVALDEF definitions to use the equivalent supported resource table. You can do this before or after migrating your EYUDREP data repository.

- Replace any references to XSTREAM_NAME with STREAMNM_STREAMNAME.
- The X2TASK and XTASK PURGE action does not support any parameters whereas the TASK PURGE action requires parameter data: PURGE PARM('TYPE(PURGE).'). You do not need to add any parameter data when you change to use the TASK resource for the FORCEPURGE and KILL actions.
