Error description
Catalog Management displays IMSID selection list from the result of ATYSSID GETCATE. When one of IMSIDs has not APF-authorized library, any IMSID is not returned from GETCATE. As the result, user cannot perform Catalog Management function when even one of IMSIDs is not-APF authorized.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IMS Admin Tool V1R1 who have * * IMS instances using the Catalog. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: See the TITLE description. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF for this APAR. * **************************************************************** When using the IMS Admin Tool's Catalog Analysis and Validation panels, IMS Admin Tool attempts to generate a list of IMSIDs registered to IMS Admin Tool that utilize the Catalog. Some of the methods used to determine whether an IMS instance is Catalog-enabled require APF authorization. If the DAI server processing the request is running on a different LPAR than a given IMS instance, the required data sets (those data sets in the STEPLIB concatenation of the IMS instance's DBRC address space) may not be APF-authorized on the DAI server's LPAR. This currently causes the list generation process to fail, even if the requestor isn't interested in the IMS instance causing the failure. The failure itself manifests itself as follows when attempting to generate the list: ATYZ020E GETCATE processing: Environment discover failed ATY3200E - DBRC-API DSPAPI(STARTDBRC) service failed. IMSID xxxx ATY3001I - Return Code: 0000000C Reason Code: C9D40001
Problem conclusion
IMS Admin Tool has been changed so that it will ignore IMS instances which generate the failure mentioned in the PROBLEM SUMMARY. This will allow list generation to complete. NOTE: If you wish to perform Catalog Analysis on an IMS instance that exists on a different LPAR than your IMS Admin Tool's DAI server, make sure that all data sets in the STEPLIB of that instance's control region and DBRC region are APF- authorized on the LPAR where your DAI server is running.
