APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The IMSDBREFRESH job is failing in the LOG APPLY phase when
    applying log records to the target databases.
    The error was noticed on KSDS files because in order to do
    updates or deletes that specific records in the KSDS must be
    read and IMS CT was getting a not found condition for the
    record.
    The problem is that IMS CT is positioning to a position in the
    archive logs that is 2 checkpoints back from the current time.
    It then begins applying log update records that are found but
    it needs to wait for the start of a new UOR in order to begin
    applying updates for that UOR.
    

Local fix

  • Either copy the databases when no activity is occurring or do
    not use a FUZZY-COPY.

Problem conclusion

  • Install the APAR  to fix an error GCLDUP29E when applying log
    records to target databases
