Cqdbsetup has stopped working error, when installing on Windows Vista from release area

Problem

This technote identifies an issue that can occur in IBM Rational ClearQuest. Installing from a release area on Microsoft Windows Vista generates a "cqdbsetup has stopped working" error.

Symptom

When you install ClearQuest on Windows Vista from a release area, towards the end of the process this error message appears:

cqdbsetup has stopped working

The installation continues and completes without further errors.
