Error description
You cycle your CPSM CMAS region. Any MAS regions which were connected to the CMAS go into 'restart' mode, issuing EYUXL0018I. This is as expected. . When you bring the CMAS back up, the MAS should automatically reconnect. However, if the MAS is unable to correctly reestablish addressability to the CPSM dataspaces, a message similar to the following will occur . EYUXC0011I E date time applid Unable to establish access to dataspace xxxxxxxx, ALESERV RC=0000000C, REAS=00000000 . The dataspace name may vary, but the Return Code and Reason Code will be as above. . The RC='0C' on an ALESERV call means the following: . Meaning: Environmental error. The current access list cannot be expanded. There are no free access list entries and the maximum size has been reached. . . Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s): KIXREVxxx
Local fix
If the CICS region is running as a started task, cycle the CICS region. If it is running as a batch job, shut the CICS region down, stop/start the initiator, and start it back up in that initiator.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICSPlex SM V5R2M0, V5R3M0 and V5R4M0 * * Users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: MAS initialization or restart may fail * * with message EYUXC0011E. The text of * * the message will be similar to the * * following: * * * * EYUXC0011E Unable to establish access * * to dataspace <dspname>, * * ALESERV RC=0000000C, * * REAS=00000000. * * * * The error is more likely to occur * * during MAS restart (the MAS remained * * active while the CMAS it was connected * * to was restarted). * * * * If the error occurs, the MAS region * * will need to be restarted to clear the * * problem. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves this * * APAR, all MASes must be restarted. Note * * that the restarts do not need to occur at * * the same time. * **************************************************************** During initialization of a MAS, ALESERV ADD requests are issued to associate ALETs to the shared data spaces that the MAS requires access to for processing. Each ALESERV issued places an entry into the primary address space access list (PASN-AL) for the region. The entry exists in the PASN-AL until either an ALESERV DELETE is issued for it, or until the region terminates. If a MAS enters restart processing because its CMAS has terminated, or the CPSM agent in the MAS is terminated through the MAS resource table STOP action or the COSH transaction, the existing entries in the PASN-AL are not removed. When the CMAS is restarted in a MAS restart condition, or COLM is issued to restart the CPSM agent in the MAS in the STOP/COSH condition, the data spaces may have been re-allocated by the CMAS. If that is the case, then ALESERV ADDs will be issued to allocate new PASN-AL entries, and the existing entries will be orphaned. The PASN-AL has a finite number of entries (510). If enough MAS restarts or STOP/COSH occur during the life of the MAS region, the PASN-AL may be filled. Subsequent ALESERV ADD requests will fail, leading to the MAS issuing the EYUXC0011E and failing restart or COLM initialization.
Problem conclusion
Method EYU0XLES (XLES), which is called in a MAS to perform resource clean up when the MAS starts restart processing and when the CPSM agent is terminated in the MAS, has been updated to request ALESERV DELETEs to free up the PASN-AL for any data spaces that could be re-allocated by the next time the MAS goes through initialization: - For CPSM agent termination, this is done for all data spaces. - For MAS restart, this is done for the data spaces of the CPSM Queue and Topology components.
