Error description
After starting Cognos through Cognos Configuration with the JMX Port set, the JMX port will be in a listening state until you close Cognos Configuration, at which point it disappears. As long the Cognos Configuration window stays open, the JMX port will be in a listening state, but shortly after closing Cognos Configuration it will disappear.
Local fix
- Start the Cognos services through Windows services or using the command line - Setting the JMX ports in p2pd_deploy_defaults.properties also works.
