Error description

  • When domain name is specified as CONNAME using IPv6 stack, the
    IP address is truncated. For example:
     You defined a channel with a CONNAME set to a domain name for
    an IPv6 channel. The connection 'conn-id' should specify
    'CSQ1-v6.CSQ.CSQlabs.ibm.com (fF99:ffff:eCSQ:333:9:222:33:203)';
    however the end of the IP address is being truncated '33:2'
    instead of '33:203'.

    CSQX202E CSQXRCTL Connection or remote listener unavailable,
     channel TO.CSQ1.CHANNEL
     connection CSQ1-v6.CSQ.CSQ1labs.ibm.com
     (fF99:ffff:eCSQ:333:9:222:33:2
     TRPTYPE=TCP RC=00000468 (ECONNREFUSED) reason=00000000
    Here you defined a channel with a CONNAME using the IPv6 address
    and the connection 'conn-id' is no longer truncated:
      CSQX202E !MQJF0 CSQXRCTL Connection or remote listener
    unavailable,
    channel TO.CSQ1.CHANNEL
    connection fF99:ffff:eCSQ:0335:9:222:33:202
    TRPTYPE=TCP RC=00000468 (ECONNREFUSED) reason=00000000

Comments

  • Users Affected:

    All users of IBM MQ for z/OS Version 9 Release 0 Modification 0
    and Release 1 Modification 0.

    Problem Description:

    Error messages that resolve to an IPv6 address may have that
    address truncated when the host/address is displayed on error
    log messages, for example on a CSQX202E message.

    Problem Summary:

    Incorrect logic in CSQFGTXT, whereby the multi-line check is
    not run in this case, leads to the wrong setting for the
    maximum line length in csqfpms1. This can result in message text
    being truncated instead of continuing on a new line.

    Problem Conclusion:

    This APAR is fixed by PI91874.
