  *                      CRECMD (GJEIEVTx and 'D' for IMS V13)   *
  *                      that is followed by the other ABEND0C4  *
  *                      in DFSSPM40.                            *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  When a zero length message to indicate the last entry for a
  single-segment message is sent to SM Type-1 AO exit routine
  twice in a row, SM creates an improper AWE whose length in the
  data portion is zero. Then, the AWE is passed to SM Event
  Handler included in IMS control region. Since SM Event Handler
  does not validate the length of the data portion in the AWE, the
  garbage data is assumed to be length which is used to copy the
  data portion into the storage area owned by SM. This can cause
  the ABENDS0C4 due to destroying the storage area owned by IMS
  control region.
  

Problem conclusion

• Install the APAR to avoid IMS abend when Sysplex Manager is
  started in the control region and zero length message is sent to
  SM Type-1 AO exit routine twice in a row.
