PI74390: MQUR MESSAGE AND DATABASE TRACE REPORT CORRECTED AS WELL AS MSGIPI0331 TYPE CHANGE 17/09/07 PTF PECHANGE

APAR status

Error description

• These issues are addresseed:
  1) The reported result in the Message Queue Utilization report
  (MQUR) message; "Length of shortest LGMSG record" is not
  correct, it incorrectly reports an intermediate block size
  calculation rather than the actual shortest message length.
  2) The results of Database Trace report can be qualified by the
  INCL(PROGRAM(name)) parameter. This was not being honored for
  all events.
  3) Message IPI0331I changed from type (I)nformation to (W)arning
  to highlight when an incorrect IMS release is specified in the
  job parameters, or System Definition.
  4) For a FORM definition with GROUP(SEC) the length of COUNT
  fields is now corrected to 8 characters long.
  
  Additional Symptom: ABEND0C4 IPIA111 at x'114'
  which turned out to be caused by APAR PI74390 PTF
  UI38668 which is now marked PE with this APAR/PTF
  now fixing ABENDS0C4.               IPIAQR11 S0C4

  1. The reported result in the Message Queue Utilization report

  2. Message IPI0331 changed from type (I)nformation to (W)arning
     to highlight when an incorrect IMS release is specified in
     the job parameters, or System Definition.
  
  3. The results of Database Trace report can be qualified by the

     for all events.
  
  4. A FORM definition with GROUP(SEC) incorrectly calculates the

Problem conclusion

• 1. Correctly report the shortest LGMSG result in the MQUR
     report.
  
  2. IMS PA detects when an incorrect IMS release is specified
     for an input Log file and attempts to correct it. Message
     IPI0331(I) was written to the job output, but as the job
     would return RC=0 the reported error may have been missed.
     The message is now changed to type (W)arning which will

     return RC=4 to indicate an error condition has been
     encountered that needs correcting.
  
  3. Database Trace report now honors the INCL(PROGRAM(name)) for
     IMS records x'08/07', Sched Start and Sched End reporting.
     The Trancode is also now reported for Input events.
  
  4. For a FORM definition with GROUP(SEC) the length of COUNT
     fields is now corrected to 8 characters long.
