Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM IMS High Performance Load *
    *                 for z/OS Version 2 Release 1 (FMID=H1IM210). *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR enhances the PSSR to support *
    * an option for skipping record count *
    *                      check.                                  *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
    This APAR enhances the PSSR to support a new statement CHKTRAIL
    for skipping record count check.

    When an unloaded data set does not have a trailer record or
    the record count in trailer does not match the actual record
    count, PSSR issues an error message FABS3652E or FABS3653E.
    This APAR provides a new statement CHKTRAIL to skip these
    checks.
    To skip these checks and avoid the error, specify CHKTRAIL=NO
    in the PSSRIN DD as follows:

    //PSSRIN DD * *
    CHKTRAIL=NO

    IMS High Performance Load for z/OS Version 2 Release 1 User's
    Guide SC18-9222-07 ( SC18922207 ) should be changed as follows:
    ================================================================

    >Physical Sequence Sort for Reload
    >> Sorting an unloaded database data set with PSSR
    >>> PSSR FABSPSSR input
    >>>> FABSPSSR PSSRIN data set

    The PSSRIN control data set contains your specifications for
    a data compression of *CS format unloaded data set and checking
    trailer for PSSR.
    :

    CHKTRAIL control statement

    Specifies whether to check if a trailer record exists in the *HD
    or *SH format of the unload data set.
    This control statement is optional. If you do not specify this
    control statement, CHKTRAIL=YES is used.

                  .-YES-.
    >>-CHKTRAIL=--+-NO--+-----------------------------------------><

    YES
      Specifies that the existence of the trailer record is checked.
      Segment count in the trailer record is also checked.

    NO
      Specifies that the existence of trailer record is not checked.

    >Physical Sequence Sort for Reload
    >> Sorting an unloaded database data set with PSSR
    >>> PSSR FABSPSSI input
    >>>> FABSPSSI PSSRIN data set

    The PSSRIN control data set contains your specifications
    for a user exit, a DATXEXIT, data compression of *CS format,
    and checking trailer for PSSR.
    These specifications are effective when PSSR runs in the IMS
    environment.
    :

    CHKTRAIL control statement

    Specifies whether to check if a trailer record exists in the *HD
    or *SH format of the unload data set.
    This control statement is optional. If you do not specify this
    control statement, CHKTRAIL=YES is used.

                  .-YES-.
    >>-CHKTRAIL=--+-NO--+-----------------------------------------><

    YES
      Specifies that the existence of the trailer record is checked.
      Segment count in the trailer record is also checked.

    NO
      Specifies that the existence of trailer record is not checked.
