APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Table was created using DB2 V7 and DB2 catalog was migrated to
DB2 V11.  The column was defined 'VARCHAR(20) for SBCS DATA'.
The column was accidentally altered to the same data type:
ALTER table TAB1 ALTER COLUMN COL1 SET DATA TYPE VARCHAR(20).

Problem summary


    

  • Capture changed the column CCSID from 0 to -1 and stopped
because the CCSID value in the SYSIBM.SYSCOLUMNS log record was
not equal to -1.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The fix for this APAR was provided in APAR PI65313.
Capture will be changed to support ALTER TABLE ALTER COLUMN SET
DATA TYPE if the table was created prior to DB2 V8.
