Problem
This technote explains why such errors as []referenced symbol not found[] or []free(): invalid pointer[] or []segmentation fault[] occurs while executing the IBM® Rational® ClearCase® xclearcase GUI along with steps to resolve the problem.
Symptom
Here are errors that occur when using the xclearcase GUI:
- Executing the xclearcase GUI on UNIX® results in the error:
ld.so.1: xclearcase: fatal: relocation error: file
/usr/atria/config/ui/lib/X11/locale/common/xlcUTF-8.so.2: symbol
_XInitOM: referenced symbol not found
- Executing the xclearcase graphical version tree results in the error:
%> cleartool lsvtree -g file.pl
%> free(): invalid pointer
0xfeffd590!
- Executing the xclearcase GUI on Linux® results in the error:
segmentation fault - core dumped
- Executing the xclearcase GUI on Solaris® x86 results in the error:
X Error of failed request: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)
