Failure to complete posted deliver started from CCRC

Troubleshooting


Problem

This technote details a known defect when using IBM® Rational® ClearCase MultiSite® with UCM and trying to complete a posted deliver that was started using the ClearCase Remote Client (CCRC).

Symptom


A deliver operation is initiated from CCRC to a target stream that is not mastered at the local site. This operation will post the deliver to be completed at the site that masters the target stream. This is the expected behavior.

However, the problem of starting the delivery from CCRC forces the deliver operation to specify a target view before it can proceed. The deliver operation requires that a local integration view be created (or reused) for the target stream to reference. This part of the deliver from CCRC results in the following error when trying to complete the deliver:

If you try to use the cleartool deliver -reset -to, the command will fails as follows:
