Abstract
This document contains a complete listing of releases, refreshes, fix packs(also known as PTFs) sorted by version for IBM Z Distribution for Zowe - z/OS. We recommend installing the latest PTFs as they are cumulative (ie they contain all the APAR fixes made available for the product since it first shipped).
IBM Z Distribution for Zowe V1.0 and 2.0 redistributes the Zowe releases from the open source community. The IBM distribution is binary equivalent to the open source Zowe. See https://www.zowe.org/ for additional information. Subsequent releases of Zowe from the open community will be delivered from IBM as PTFs on IBM Z Distribution for Zowe V1.0 in maintenance mode (fixes only) and for 2.0 using the IBM Continuous Delivery (enhancements and fixes).

Helpful Hints For Obtaining Technical Assistance
Before you contact IBM Support, gather the background information that you need to describe the problem. When you describe a problem to an IBM software support specialist, be as specific as possible and include all relevant background information so that the specialist can help you solve the problem efficiently. To save time, know the answers to these questions:
- Can the issue be reduced to a small test case?
- Can the test case be provided to IBM?
- What version and fix pack level were you using when the problem occurred?
- Do you have logs, traces, or messages that are related to the problem?
- Can you reproduce the problem? If so, what steps do you use to reproduce it?
- Is there a workaround for the problem? If so, be prepared to describe the workaround.
If you have helpful information to diagnose or identify the problem on your system, you can provide this data by following the instructions to exchange information with IBM Technical Support.
Version 2.0 PTF Release Information
IBM Z Distribution for Zowe V2.0 is required. This is a base version that is built on the Zowe open source community's release V2.0.0. Please note: IBM Z Distribution for Zowe is released 2-3 days after the Open Source Release.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What’s the difference between IBM Z Distribution for Zowe and the open source community Zowe?
IBM Z Distribution for Zowe V1.0 and 2.0 redistributes the Zowe releases from the open source community. The IBM distribution is binary equivalent to the open source Zowe.
- Will each open source Zowe have a matching IBM Z Distribution version like V1.28 or V2.1?
Subsequent releases of Zowe from the open community will be delivered from IBM as PTFs on IBM Z Distribution for Zowe. The version IBM Z Distribution for Zowe will remain 1.0.0 or 2.0.
- When the community releases a new Zowe version like V2.1, how can I update the Zowe FMID to the same level?
You could order the matching PTFs from Shopz, install and apply them manually on top of the Zowe FMID to run a new Zowe version. For a list of PTFs and the equivalent open source community version, see the PTF release information above.
- When will a PTF be available?
After a new Zowe open source release is delivered, equivalent PTFs will be made available on Shopz shortly after.
- Will the version of IBM Z Distribution for Zowe be updated after I apply PTFs?
No, after you apply PTFs, the version number of IBM Z Distribution for Zowe will not be updated. It will remain v1.0.0 or 2.0. Applying PTFs will only update IBM Z Distribution for Zowe to match the equivalent Zowe open source community release.
