PK28638: USERMOD INSTRUCTIONS UNCLEAR FOR O2AUSR ADDITIONALLY, PROVIDE ENHANCED UPDATES TO REFLECT OMPE V310

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Module O2AUSR is a data only module that is linked into a number
  of LMODS. It provides default values for the OMEGAMON DB2 ATF
  (Application Trace Facility) feature.
  
  A USERMOD is provided in TKANSAM(KO2MOD01) to alter the default
  values. The instructions in the KO2MOD01 do not indicate to
  change the $$ to ++  as they do in KO2MOD03. KO2MOD02 is also
  missing these instructions.
  
  There are no instructions suggesting a location to which to copy
  the mod before updating. As the person who maintains the product
  may change over time, a suggestion should be made to copy the
  member to a library that will be associated with the product
  through out its life-cycle (perhaps RKD2PAR). This will be
  useful in migrating between releases.
  
  TKANSAM(KO2MOD04) is incomplete (no implementation
  instructions as in the other KO2MOD* members) and is obsolete.
  All ATF overrides are available in KO2MOD01 and the offsets in
  KO2MOD04 are incorrect.
  

Local fix

• SMP RESTORE of the USERMOD may fail for missing REQs. In this
  case a REJECT can be performed. The USERMOD can be changed.
  After changing the USERMOD perform a RECEIVE. When the RECEIVE
  completes, perform a APPLY REDO CHECK to validate the update. If
  the update is satisfactory, run the APPLY without CHECK.
