PK26509: REPEATED ERROR MESSAGES FOR CLEARTEXT OPEN FAILURES ON AIX SYSTEMS RUNNING CLEARCASE AFTER CLEARTEXT HAS BEEN SCRUBBED

• Closed as unreproducible.

Error description

• Repeated error messages occur within the IBM Rational ClearCase
  MVFS logs as well as client sessions that access cleartext that
  was scrubbed AFTER the cleartext has been accessed at least once
  by a user session.
  To Recreate Problem:
  1) Login as vobadm, create a default view and a public VOB
  2) Create a file element (as vobadm), edit the checked out file,
  and then checkin the element:
  /vobs/testvob?[vobadm_test]cleartoolco -nc .
  Checked out . from version /main/0.
  /vobs/testvob?[vobadm_test]cleartool mkelem -nc foo.ksh
  Created element foo.ksh (type text_file).
  Checked out foo.ksh from version /main/0.

  3) Create cleartext using the more command:
  /vobs/testvob?[vobadm_test]more foo.ksh

  6) Close the window of the telnet session, open another telnet
  session and run endview to stop the loop from within the MVFS
  logs:

  Thus, one is able to reproduce the error with only one VOB, one
  view, one user (root for scrubbing) and one element.
  

Local fix

• Prevent/halt aggressive scrubbing of cleartext
