Problem

This technote explains why attempts to import an IBM Rational ClearCase MultiSite Replica Creation packet results in the error, Duplicate packet with sequence number # detected, and provides instructions to resolve the problem.

Symptom

Attempts to import a Replica Creation packet results in the following error:

multitool mkreplica -import -preserv -workdir C:\tmp\wk-vobname -nc -tag \vobname -vob \\machinename\clearcase_storage\VOBS\vobname.vbs d:\import\repl_creation_packet

The packet can only be used to create replica "vobname2"
- VOB family is f0059e86.1d5f4346.8dfe.c4:a8:1a:53:c4:eb
- replica OID is d997482f.56de4015.a428.a4:8f:91:a6:ce:ba
Should I create this replica? [no] yes
