PI94966: FPQINFO RETURNED BY CONTROL QUERY FUNCTION HAS WRONG VALUE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Repository Control Block (FPQINFO) is returned from the FPQ
  server to the FPQ client when the FPQ client calls FPQSRV
  FUNC=CONTROL TYPE=QUERY.
  The FPQ server constructs the FPQINFO block, but there is
  possibility that the FPQ server may set wrong values. As the
  result the FPQ client refers the wrong values and causes
  problem with ABEND0C4.

  The internal control block is constructed by the FPQ server when
  the client requests the repository I/O request.
  However, there is possibility that the FPQ server module may set
  wrong values to internal control block.
  As the result, the client modules refers its values and might
  unexpected results.
  
  The cause of this problem is that the storage of the internal
  control block obtained by FPQ server module does not initialize
  with low-values.
  If the storage has dirty values (not low-values) when it is
  obtained, FPQ server will set the wrong values to internal
  control blocks.
  

Problem conclusion

• The IMS Tools KB has been modified to clear the obtained storage
  with low-values.
