PI94584: SAVE DATA AS RETURNS INCORRECT ROW COUNT IF TABLE DOES NOT EXIST 18/03/12 PTF PECHANGE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• QMF returns an incorrect row count after SAVE DATA AS command,
  if the table being saved does not exist.
  But if replacing a table, the row count is correct.
  
  The command could be as simple as the following.
  
  SAVE DATA AS MYTABLE

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When invoking QMF with the multi row    *
  *                      fetch feature enabled (DSQSMRFI=YES or  *
  *                      MR=YES), the SAVE DATA command can show *
  *                      an incorrect number in the message      *
  *                      DSQ20822:                               *
  *                        'There were nnn rows of data saved as *
  *                         userid.tablename in the database.'   *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  The multi row insert feature in the SAVE DATA command was
  incorrectly calculating the total number of rows inserted. This
  has been corrected.
