Error description

• If a return area being provided that is larger than 64K then we
  truncate the number of bytes by putting it in a fixed(15) field,
  IBUFLEN.

  * which retrieves a SQL statement string                       *
  * from statement cache through the IFI                         *
  * READS interface.                                             *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
  * When processing one or more IFCID0317                        *
  * requests, the following abend occurs:                        *

  * ABND=0C4-00000010,                                           *
  * LOC=DSNWVAPR.DSNWVAPR+26C0                                   *
  * .                                                            *
  * After multiple abends, the issuing                           *
  * application may receive a return code                        *
  * of 8 with reason code 00E60831.                              *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  * Apply corrective PTF when available.                         *
  ****************************************************************
  Return code=8 with RC=00E60831 after multiple abends when
  processing IFCID 317 requests resulting in the disabling of
  all IFI requests and MONITOR trace processing.
  
  The problem was caused by a control block with an incorrect
  length value causing an 0C4 abend in DSNWVAPR.
  

Problem conclusion

• Db2 IFCID0317 trace processing has been modified to correctly
  set the length of the control block.
