APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If collection of DB2 Utilties is enabled in STAP V10.1.3, there
is a possibility during and/or after collection of a utilty
event, DB2 activity may enter a loop.

Local fix

  • The workaround for this issue is to modify the activated policy
defined at the appliance by removing all instances of the
"IBM DB2 UTILITIES" from the Command filter, for all rules
included in the policy. The "IBM DB2 UTILITIES" may need to be
removed from the predefined group Command group "DB2/Z General
Audit Types". By removing "IBM DB2 UTILITIES" from the
activated policy, the z/OS Agent will no longer execute the code
to collect utility events and the text for those events, thus
avoiding the overlay causing the loop.
Note that by implementing this workaround, DB2 Utilities will no
longer be audited until the APAR is available and DB2 Utilities
have been added to the active policy.
