Abstract: Introduction to OSGi and Modularity in MDM Operational Server - InfoSphere Master Data Management (MDM) 11.x operational server is based on an enterprise Open Service Gateway initiative (OSGi) architecture, which is modular in nature. Benefits of a modular architecture application design include reducing complexity, reducing time to delivery, and increasing serviceability. In this session you will get exposed to OSGi along with it's key features and how MDM leverages this technology for extensibility and customization.

Speaker: Dany Drouin has been a software developer at IBM for more than 10 years, working on MDM Advanced Edition and Standard Edition. Dany was a key player in the re-architecture of MDM to a better and more modular technology using OSGi.

Using MDM CE and the Industry Models to Accelerate Product and Product Offer Management in the Financial Services Sector

Abstract: The financial services sector is going through an unprecedented combination of regulatory reform and competition. This is driving many institutions to modify how they create products to reduce the time it takes to make changes from 6-8 months to days. This session will provide an overview of the problem, the required components for a complete solution, then focus on how IBM's Collaborative Edition is foundational to this transformation.

Speaker: Andy Ousterhout is responsible for the MDM suite of products within the Financial Services Sector. He is currently the Chair of the Party Domain Working Group and a member of the Product and Price Working Group of the Banking Industry Architecture Network. Before this, he was in the SWG Services Organization, responsible for the World Wide MDM Principal Team. Principals were responsible for selling and managing MDM implementations. In this capacity, he managed implementations at SunTrust Bank, AXA Japan, Irish Life, Krung Thai Bank to name a few. He started his career working for Bankers Trust Company, New York in both a Financial Services Sales and IT capacity.
