Technical Blog Post

Abstract

SYS_ANY option db2move may cause tables in the source schema to move to other tablespaces instead of the target table space.

Body

User have activity to Move Tables under different Schema to move under single tablespace.
e.g.Schema ABC is span across multiple tablespace,so we need to move
from all those tablespace to achieve end goal.

If we use SYS_ANY option in db2move command it may fail to achieve goal and face error.

The user also has the option of using the SYS_ANY keyword to indicate that the target
table space should be chosen using the default table space selection algorithm.
In this case, db2move will be able to choose any available table space to be used as the
target.

Purpose of current activity to move Tables from one Schema under single tablesapce.
as as dependent tablespace not available it could fail.So it we skip option SYS_ANY in
TABLESPACE_MAP option for db2move this will allow us to achieve user goal.
