Troubleshooting
Problem
make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop. when running the TargetRTS Wizard
Resolving The Problem
QUESTION:
Why is "make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop." reported when using the TargetRTS Wizard to build a target, which uses the make utility?
ANSWER:
The above error message can be caused by no or partial installation of the target runtime services library source code. The result of which, is that there is no makefile available in the $ROSERT_HOME\C++\TargetRTS\src directory for the make utility to use.
Note: Partial installation of the TargetRTS source code can happen if the original source was not installed from the Companion Products CD and, later, patches installed for Development Studio RealTime. The patches, apply fixes to the source directory by adding new versions of the files. This gives the impression that the sources are there, but in reality, only the changes are there.
To fix the problem, install the Companion Products CD. If the problem is related to a "partial installation" as noted above, it is important to reinstall any patches.
