Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IPR Driver of IMS Parallel *
    *                 Reorganization for z/OS Version 3 Release 2  *
    *                 (FMID=H25N320)                               *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: IPR Driver issuesns HPSG0237E and RC=08 *
    *                      for HALDB INDEXBLD=YES                  *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
    IPR Driver returns the return code 08 with the HPSG0237E message
       HPSG0237E INDEXBLD CANNOT BE SPECIFIED FOR HALDB
    when INDEXBLD=YES/NO is specified for HALDB.

    After applying this APAR, IPR Driver ignores INDEXBLD control
    statement and continues the processing for a HALDB.
    In the "HPSIN CONTROL STATEMENTS" report, "N/A (NOTE: THIS
    OPTION IS NOT APPLICABLE TO HALDB)" is printed for the keyword
    INDEXBLD.

Problem conclusion

  • ========================
    = Documentation Change =
    ========================
    IBM IMS Parallel Reorganization for z/OS User's Guide
    (SC18-9228-04) should be changed as follows:
    --------------------------------------------------------------
     2.0  IPR Driver
     2.7  Control Statements
     2.7.8 Description of control statements for Reorganization
           Manager
     2.7.8.15 INDEXBLD Control Statement
      The INDEXBLD control statement specifies whether the secondary
      indexes for the database are built in the IPR Driver job
      step. This is an optional control statement for a non-HALDB.
      If you do not explicitly specify this control statement,
      INDEXBLD=NO will be used.

    | If the database to be reorganized is a HALDB, this control
    | statement is ignored.
    :
    D You cannot specify the INDEXBLD control statement for a HALDB.
