Error description
This APAR will address the following problems: - It is possible to activate a message exit that failed to load during initialization - ABEND0C4 in CEXMAIN if no datastores are defined - CEX fails to initialize if there are no PORTS defined in the TCPIP command of the HWS configuration member - ICON accepts MAXSOC= but CEX fails to initialize in this case - ABEND0C4 in CEXTPLST if there are no message exits defined in the HWS configuration member - The event record DSECT for type 130 does not contain an explaination of the CTLWORD field

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All Users of IMS Connect Extensions V2.1. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ABEND0C4 in CEXMAIN if no datastores * * are defined. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The following problems are addressed in this APAR: 1. It is possible to activate a message exit that failed to load during initialization. 2. 0C4 in CEXMAIN if no datastores are defined. 3. CEX fails to initialize if there are no PORTS defined in the TCPIP command of the HWS configuration member. 4. ICON accepts MAXSOC= but CEX fails to initialize in this case. 5. 0C4 in CEXTPLST if there are no message exits defined in the HWS configuration member. 6. The event record DSECT for type 130 does not contain an explaination of the CTLWORD field. 7. The 163 OTMA trace record may not contain any application data. 8. Sync callout response not recognized after ICON KB20092 for IMS Connect V11. 9. 0C1or 0C4 due to storage overlay building trace record 164 if inbound application data has LL field with value greater than X'8000' The abend usually occurs at entry to module FUNTDB01.
Problem conclusion
The following changes have been made to correct these problems: 1. Changed code to only allow an exit that failed to load to be deleted and added. 2. Changed code in CEXMAIN to prevent 0C4 when no datastores are defined. 3. Corrected CEXMAIN to initialize correctly when no PORTS are defined. 4. Corrected CEXMAIN to correctly initialize when MAXSOC= is specified. 5. Corrected CEXTPLST to not abend when shutdown is posted early due to HWS U3401 abend for invalid configuration parameters. 6. Added flag bit meanings to user macro CEXR130 for event record 130. 7. Corrected CEXTECL to include as much application data as will fit into the trace buffer instead of excluding application data when it was larger than the remaining space in the trace buffer. 8. Corrected CEXEXRTR to tollerate the change in PK20092 that sets a Sync Callout Response as a SENDONLY message. 9. Corrected the technique used to make sure the amount of application data traced did not exceed the trace buffer.
