APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The DEDB AREA ANALYSIS REPORT as run via the DEDB Pointer
Checker, can incorrectly report 0 for the SDEV and S/D
standard deviation fields. This occurs even after PK63679
    is installed.

    This is a retro-fit of HPFP V3R2 APAR PK82861.

Backward Fit APAR of FPB V3R2 PK82861.
Before the calculation of the standard deviation,
the DEDB Pointer Checker checked whether this calculation is
required. The calculation was skipped in case of sdev=0 and
    SDEV was set to 0.
When the distributed value for the standard deviation is very
small, the standard deviation value (SDEV and S/D) shows 0
incorrectly due to the checking logic error.

Problem conclusion

  • The macro DA5SDEV0 and DA5PRPR0 have been modified to remove
the prior checking for the calculation of the standard
    deviation.
