PK82106: STATUSGB RECEIVED ON GSAM GU CALL WITH RSA

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• STATUSGB received incorrect for a GSAM GU call with RSA .
  If the problem occurs or not is dependent on how the field /
  byte after the RSA in the application looks like.
  It seems as IMS considers this byte in application as the
  GBZFLAG and therefore depending on how this byte looks like,
  the problem occurs.

  *                      the user attempts to retrieve a GSAM    *
  *                      record using a qualified GU call with   *
  *                      a user specified RSA.                   *

  * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF      *

  A qualified GU with an RSA for a GSAM record returns the next
  record in the GSAM database.  If the GU RSA specifies the last
  record then a GB status code is returned.
  
  The next record is returned because code after label OPENED in
  module DFSZDC00 overlays GBDEVT1 with the 8th byte of the RSA.
  When the 8th byte has the 3rd bit position set GBDEVT1 will
  indicate the GBZFLAG bit is on.  With GBZFLAG set module
  DFSZD210 will retrieve the next record in the GSAM database in
  routine PNTRTN, point routine.
