PK81696: PE AGENT DOESN'T WORK SINCE DB2PM.PARAMETER TABLE IS NOT UPDATED

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• PE Server Subtask doesn't update contents of DB2PM.PARAMETER
  table (including history collection flag) in accordance with its
  startup parameters.
  Thus Performance Expert Agent reads and uses values and flags
  which were set in DB2PM.PARAMETER table previously.
  It may impact on operability of Performance Expert Agent.
  

Local fix

• Set the values you have specified for PE Server Subtask startup
  parameters SNAPSHOTHISTORY (for each DB2 s/s being monitored)
  and the AUTOMATICAGENTUPDATE again issuing the MODIFY command
  to the z/OS console.
  This will force the PE Server Subtask to update the contents
  of the DB2PM.PARAMETER table.
  For details of how to use the MODIFY command refer to the
  topic "Subtask commands to Performance Expert Server" in the
  "OMEGAMON XE PE(PM)V4R1 Configuration and Customization"
  GC18-9979-02 manual.
  
  Note: It may take up to 10 minutes before the update is seen by
  all Performance Expert Agents.

  PROBLEM SUMMARY:
  DB2 Connect specific tables are not updated correctly by the
  OMPE Server. If PWH is activated, the updating is blocked and
  is not be restarted unless a modify command is sent to the
  OMPE Server.
  
  PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
  When PWH updates are complete, it post the main task which
  will now update the parameters tables needed by the PEAgent.
